How Does The Bending Process Work?

Bending is a common metal processing method used to bend sheet metal or tubing into a desired shape. The following is the basic process of bending:

1）Material Preparation: Select the appropriate metal sheet or tube and determine the size and thickness according to the design requirements.

2）Design Measurement: Determine the bending position, angle and radius and other parameters according to the required part drawings or design requirements, and make the appropriate measurements.

3）Making molds: Make suitable bending molds according to the design requirements, which can be processed by hand or mechanical equipment.

4）Installation of molds: Install the made bending moulds on the bending machine or other applicable equipment.

5）Clamping the material: fix the metal material to be bent on the bending machine to ensure stability and safety.

6）Adjust the parameters: according to the design requirements and the actual situation, adjust the parameters of the bending machine, such as pressure, speed and angle, etc., to ensure that the bending results meet the requirements.

7）Perform bending: Start the bending machine and control the movement of the mould through the control system to bend the metal material according to the preset angle and curve.

8）Check the quality: After completing the bending, check whether the shape, size and surface quality of the bending part meet the design requirements.

9）Subsequent treatment: According to the need, subsequent treatment can be carried out, such as trimming the edges, removing residues or surface coating.
